Pacquiao vs Clottey Primer on Solar TV

A dose of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is in store for the Filipinos as Solar TV airs some of his memorable fights 15 days before ‘The Event’ when the Filipino ring icon stakes his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Joshua Clottey of Ghana.

The TV special is a two-week series featuring the last 14 fights of the 31-year old boxer considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today, leading up to his March 13 showdown (March 14, Manila time) with Clottey at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Keys to Victory - Clottey vs Pacquiao

Lot of things happened in the world of boxing in the past few months. And in barely three weeks' time, on 13th of March, we shall witness another action packed boxing action between the WBO welterweight champion and the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world Manny Pacquiao against the formidable worthy opponent from Ghana, former IBF welterweight world champion, Joshua "The Grand Master" Clottey.

Joshua Clottey needs to KO Manny Pacquiao

Joshua Clottey can beat Manny Pacquiao on March 13. Pacquiao is not invincible and makes so many mistakes in the ring that Joshua Clottey can expose and capitalize on. Clottey is a more intelligent boxer with great defense, his only weakness is his offense, Clottey is very passive and economical with his punches.

Joshua Clottey in best shape against Pacquiao

A native of Ghana who is preparing for a March 13 challenge for the WBO welterweight (147 pounds) crown held by seven-division champion, Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs), of the Philippines, Joshua Clottey (35-3, 20 knockouts), of The Bronx, N.Y., spoke to FanHouse on Friday from his sleeping quarters near his training facility at Fort Lauderdale's Contender Gym in Fla.

Final Preparations for Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao ran roughshod through four different sparring partners earlier this week, and boxing's pound-for-pound king plans to churn through just as many on Saturday.

He's been peppering the speed bag, pounding the heavy bag and doing enough running to make Usain Bolt fall over in a heap. Under the watchful eye of trainer Freddie Roach, Pacquiao is putting himself in position to knock out Joshua Clottey when they fight March 13 in Dallas.

Late KO by Pacquiao says Freddie Roach

Freddie Roach has plenty of respect for Joshua Clottey, specifically his rock-solid chin.

But his admiration stops there since he’s confident that Manny Pacquiao is going to beat him on March 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

“He’s got a good chin but we’ll make him quit sometime late in the fight,” Roach told the Bulletin last Friday in a long-distance call from Los Angeles where he and Pacquiao have been holed up since the third week of January.

Pacquiao is not using drugs said Clottey

MANILA, Philippines – Challenger Joshua Clottey of Ghana said he didn’t even think of requiring pound-for-pound champ Manny Pacquiao to undergo blood tests when talks leading to “The Event” started months ago.

Clottey, who will clash with the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight king on March 13, said he has too much respect for Pacquiao.

"I don't want to do that (seek blood test) because I respect him so much," Clottey said in a report posted on LasVegasSun.com.

Life goes on, Pacquiao vs Clottey Fight said Arum

The issue that killed a mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather apparently didn't even come up during the Filipino's negotiations with Joshua Clottey.

Shortly after talks between Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KO) and Mayweather (40-0, 25 KO) broke down because of Mayweather's insistence they implement Olympic-style drug testing, Top Rank officials announced their fighter was moving on to take a March 13 fight with Clottey at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Out pointing Pacquiao will be tricky for Clottey

MANILA, Philippines – Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight champion Joshua Clottey of Ghana will have to change his strategy if he wants to beat pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao on March 13, a boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) trainer said.

Pacquiao vs. Clottey Tickets Sell out - could sell 45,000 Tickets

The Dallas Cowboy stadium will likely be filled with at least 45,000 fans for the March 13th fight between World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey. According to ESPN, the fight is nearing a sellout of 45,000. If it reaches that total, the stadium, which can hold 100,000 fans, will be reconfigured from 45,000 to a larger number to accommodate additional fans that might want to travel to Arlington, Texas to see the fight.
