Pacquiao-Clottey fight: tickets to 45,000 seating capacity stadium sold out

ARLINGTON, Texas (MindaNews/13 March) -- Screaming fans chanting the name Manny with the plaza doors of the Cowboys stadium opening to reveal the huge video board inside dramatically served as backdrop for Friday’s weigh in as Pacquiao defends today (Sunday in Manila) his WBO Welterweight title against challenger Joshua Clottey. Pacquiao came in at 145 ¾ while Clottey hit the welterweight limit of 147 lbs. The atmosphere was so festive that a stare down between the boxers ended with both breaking into laughter.
There was the traditional clenched fists, but everything ended with hugs and handshakes for both fighters and trainers. Buboy Fernandez threw Pacquiao’s pair of rubber shoes to the crowd.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may have already gotten his numbers for his ticket sales for a 45,000 seating outlay, that a standing-room only ticket of $35 was announced to be also up for sale online.

More celebrities are expected to glitter ringside seats for today’s fight. Actor Robert Duvall and Dallas Cowboys safety Darren Woodson showed up to witness the official weigh in yesterday.

The fight will be aired live by HBO on pay-per-view and is expected to be seen by millions of boxing fans worldwide.
